The website was launched, after much prodding, on Easter 2020 amidst a crisis.

I am John Donaldson, a social scientist. But this site has nothing to do with my academic research.

The Bible preaches justice, love, sacrifice, humility. A concern for the poor. Fighting alongside the oppressed. Often, we hear war, hate, intolerance, selfishness and racism loudly associated with Christian teaching.

What is the truth?

I am inspired by critical Christians such as Pastor Jim E. Wallis, Dr. Ron Sider, and Dr. Tony Campolo. The daily activism Rabbi Marc Fitzerman convinced me to get out of the pew.

The bible is the inspired word of God. We read the Bible and critically interpret those truths.

I do not want to stoop to name-calling and Bible-thumping. I want to act out of love. I would like to say my interpretations are correct, and those of my more boisterous Christian siblings are wrong.

Instead, I present what I know of as the truth, a draft.
